AUTUMN JUNIOR TOURNAMENTS 2023

This April, Tennis Auckland is hosting two Junior Masters Points Race Tier 3 events. We are happy to introduce the new Auckland Junior Easter Cup that sits alongside our Autumn Junior Championships. 

Players may play in both tournaments.

10’s competition is only in the Auckland Junior Championships

15+ is for players who are too old for 16s, or 15/16 year old players who are wanting to compete against older players

All players should enter their age group. Players must meet the age group criteria at 30 April 2023

Tournament

Formats

12s, 14s, 16s :

  • Main draw of 16 players and the top ranked 12 players will be direct entries to this draw
  • The next 8 players will compete in a qualifying draw for the 4 qualifier places to make up the 16
  • The 4 players who don’t qualify will go into the first division 8 person draw along with the 4 players who qualify from the next 8 player qualifying draw
  • This pattern will repeat down the ranking list to encompass all the players in the age group

This will give all players a chance to jump ahead of their immediate ranking group.

10’s

All players will compete in the same draws

General 

We aim to give all players a minimum of 3 matches 

Rankings are based on MatchHub or World Tennis Number (if available).

Match Format

10’s Singles – Two short sets to 4 with short deuce & a tie breaker if one set all.

10’s Doubles – same format as singles.

12’s / 14’s / 16’s Singles – Two sets with tie-break at 6 all – Match tie-break if one set all

12’s / 14’s / 16’s Doubles – Two Sets with tie-break at 6 all and short deuce. Match tie-break if one set all

Service Lets: For all ages – If the service hits the net and lands in then the receiver must play the ball.
