Parnell and Remuera head Scarbro Caro Bowl Standings

 Parnell hit the lead in the Scarbro Caro Bowl women’s competition after a 4-2 win against Sunnyhills last Friday in round four action.  Sacha Jones picked up the only singles win for Sunnyhills when she defeated Emily Fanning in straight sets.  Pompallier scored a comfortable 6-0 sweep against Kohimarama with Tracey O’Connor and Katherine Costain winning their respective singles matches in straight sets.  Glendowie won for the first time this season and away from the bottom of the points table by beating Remuera 5-1 last Friday night.  Parnelll lead the overall point standings by 12 points but the next three teams behind them all have a game in hand due to earlier round byes.

 Remuera won the top of the table clash in the men’s competition when they defeated Cockle Bay 4-2.  The deciding factor was in the doubles with Remuera claiming both matches before splitting the four singles matches.  Cameron Norrie kept his unbeaten run alive at number one by beating Sebastian Lavie in straight sets.  Blockhouse Bay moved into second place beating Remuera 2 by 5 matches to 1 while Parnell surprisingly lost both doubles matches against Royal Oak before storming back to win three singles matches and secure victory on a count back of games.  The final contest saw Kohimarama sweep Pompallier 6-0 although three of the matches went the distance before being decided in three sets.
