The 2025 Caro Bowl season gets underway on Friday, 31 October, marking the start of another exciting summer of high-quality interclub tennis across Auckland.
The Caro Bowl is New Zealand’s most prestigious interclub tennis competition and the premier event on the Tennis Auckland club calendar. Established in 1918, it boasts a proud history, with many of the country’s finest players — past and present — having taken part over the decades.
This year’s competition once again features a mix of former and current New Zealand and Auckland representatives, along with emerging juniors eager to test themselves against more seasoned opponents.
In the Men’s Caro Bowl, a warm welcome back goes to Eden Epsom, returning to the league after a few years away. They bring with them a proud Caro Bowl tradition and a history of strong performances. On paper, Next Gen, Pakuranga, and Karaka appear to be the early favourites, provided they can field their full-strength line-ups — always a challenge given player availability and injuries.
In the Women’s Caro Bowl, congratulations go to Papatoetoe, who earned promotion after a strong season last year and now join the top division. Defending champions Parnell again look formidable and will be tough to beat, while Next Gen will be eager to reclaim the Bowl after narrowly missing out last season. Campbell Park feature an exciting line-up of talented juniors, though tournament commitments may test their availability. Royal Oak and Bucklands Beach remain perennial contenders, with consistent and competitive performances year after year.
Matches will be played Friday nights (6 pm) and Sundays (12.30 pm), promising plenty of thrilling tennis as clubs battle for Auckland supremacy.
