A Night of Celebration at Glendowie Tennis Club
The 2025 Tennis Auckland Club Awards were held on Thursday 28 August at Glendowie Tennis Club, and it was a fantastic celebration of community, achievement, and passion for the game. With a terrific turnout, great atmosphere, and plenty of laughter, the night proved to be one of the highlights on the Tennis Auckland calendar.
Before the awards kicked off, many guests took the opportunity to try out Padel Tennis at Glendowie’s new courts — a big hit with plenty of rallies, laughs, and even a few surprised converts to the game!
Mark Lewis steered proceedings smoothly as MC, while Tennis Auckland President Simon Vannini presented the awards and TA Chairman Howard Lewis took the honour of presenting the Club of the Year to the Mission Bay Tennis Club.
The loudest cheers and applause of the night were reserved for Joan Kelly from Bucklands Beach Tennis Club, recognised for her incredible contribution to the sport and awarded Volunteer of the Year. Joan’s tireless dedication and passion for tennis have made a lasting impact on her club and the wider Auckland community.
With great food, drinks flowing at the bar, and plenty of stories shared, the night was a fitting tribute to the incredible work being done by clubs, coaches, and volunteers across the region.
