2023 Caro Bowl Season Gets Underway

The 2023 Caro Bowl season gets underway this Friday 27 October at various club venues across the Auckland region. Next Gen won the Men’s and Women’s competitions last year and will be trying hard to repeat that effort this season.

The Caro Bowl competition attracts many of the top players in New Zealand and will be no different this year.  Former and current Davis and Bilie Jean King Cup players listed for teams this year include Rubin Statham, Ajeet Rai, Marcus Daniell, Finn Reynolds, Paige Hourigan and Jade Lewis.

A big welcome to Pakuranga and Cockle Bay who join the women’s competition ranks and to Remuera who return to the men’s event after a couple of seasons in lower interclub grades.

The season promises to deliver high quality contests in both the Men’s and Women’s competitions. The Men’s and Women’s format has gone back to the old full round robin with the top two teams to contest the final on 1 December.  There are eight teams in each competition.  The bottom team at the end of the season will be relegated next year.

The opening round of the competition is on Friday 27 October and the men will play again on Sunday 29 October.   There should be some quality contests over the opening weekend of Caro Bowl.  Teams will be trying hard to get off to a winning start as the road to the final gets underway.

Full draws and venues are available in the Caro Bowl section at www.tennisauckland.co.nz. We encourage all tennis fans to come along, support their clubs, watch some great tennis, and enjoy host club hospitality.
