It all started with the ASB Classic
We are sharing the good news about the opening of our new indoor pickleball and golf sim facility, Stanley Street Clubhouse, which is literally 100 m from the Manuka Doctor Arena (home of the ASB Classic).
We know Tennis Auckland getting into the business of pickleball and golf will raise some eyebrows so let us explain.
It all started with the ASB Classic
The ASB Classic is challenged with finding more room and more flexibility in how it uses its current space in the Auckland Domain. As tournament standards continue to evolve, the ATP and WTA Tours are asking for more space for player preparation, practice courts and the facilities needed to support the tournament.
We were fortunate to have 70 Stanley Street right at our doorstep. The 1,500 sqm indoor facility had once been home to the old University of Auckland gym and became vacant after the Uni built its new sports and recreation centre. With the space sitting empty we were able to make use of it during the 2026 ASB Classic.

Feedback from both the ATP and WTA showed that having access to the facility made a big difference for players and helped the tournament run more smoothly. That made it clear to us how important it was to secure the space for future ASB Classic tournaments.
The ASB Classic only needs the space for four weeks a year so we had to decide what to do with it for the other eleven months. Pickleball was a natural fit as a growing and accessible racquet sport while golf sims gave us another way to attract people to the venue. Together they allow the space to earn its keep while ensuring it remains available for future ASB Classic tournaments.
So that is the thinking behind Stanley Street Clubhouse...now let us show you around.
Pickleball
Our three full size indoor pickleball courts feature generous run off areas and quality Plexipave surfaces for a comfortable and consistent playing experience. One court even has its own private soundproof room so you can close the door, put on your own music and enjoy a private game with your group.
Golf sims
Our two premium indoor golf simulator bays are powered by Foresight Falcon technology and GSPro software. Both deliver a realistic golf experience with detailed ball and club data and a wide range of virtual courses to play. The bays are great for practice sessions and social rounds. Premium Wilson hire clubs are also available for men and women with left and right handed options too.
Venue hire
Stanley Street Clubhouse is also available for corporate events, birthdays, celebrations and group get togethers (hint hint...the venue would be perfect for your office Christmas do). There is plenty of space to relax and socialise, with seating areas, changing rooms and showers. Ask us about bringing in your own food and drinks.
